- This is for 3 of our regular sessions. To get the best results out of your teeth whitening sessions, you should repeat the treatment every 2-6 months. For clients with deeper stains that only lighten a few shades at your first appointment, you can repeat the treatment 24 hours after your first session if desired to achieve maximum results.

What Is SunnaSmile?
SunnaSmile is a registered natural health product that uses an LED Red and Blue light to activate teeth whitening. It was designed to provide maximum oral health while whitening. It is highly effective, enamel-safe, has low sensitivity, and it is an extremely convenient option for use At-Home or In-Studio. One SunnaSmile session is the equivalent in whitening power to 50 tubes of whitening toothpaste, 25 dental whitening syringes, and 5 packages of strips!
SunnaSmile is pain free, can help to fight bacteria & gingivitis, remineralize the teeth, and remove plaque and stains while whitening the teeth.
We offer two types of whitening sessions:
Regular In-Studio Session: This gel treatment uses a mouthguard/mouth tray and gel is inserted into the mouthguard and client will bite down on the tray during the treatment. This service is better suited for clients with more teeth sensitivity as it contains less carbamide peroxide and hydrogen peroxide. ($99 per treatment)
Super Gel In-Studio Session: This is a stronger, more intense whitening treatment than the regular session and uses a mouth retractor vs a mouth tray. This also includes a pen and brush application, the client can come in for a back to back session or a touch up treatment while using the same gel pen. The client gets to keep the whitening brush, lip balm, mouthwash, all in a drawstring case. Super Gel contains 40% Carbamide Peroxide, 10% Hydrogen Peroxide. ($150 for treatment, $60 for touch up treatment)
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM YOUR IN-STUDIO WHITENING SESSION...
CONSULT & PREP
Every SunnaSmile session will begin with a shade guide comparison in order to indicate the starting shade of your teeth. Your SunnaSmile specialist will guide you through the preparation of your teeth for the session, including a brush-up with SunnaSmile’s signature Smile Prep, a multi-action cleaning paste that removes plaque and reduces tartar build up while gently polishing your teeth.
Next, your SunnaSmile specialist will walk you through what to expect during the whitening process - once you have the whitening tray or whitening retractor in your mouth it is very difficult to ask questions.
WHITENING
After clarifying any questions, you may have and the whitening tray/retractor is in place, you will be given some protective sunglasses to wear. These are purely for eye comfort, as the combination of red and blue light technology that is used to activate the whitening gel is very bright.
Now comes the easy part - sit back and relax. You will relax behind the light for 20-25 minutes (some clients prefer to start with only 15 minutes during their first session). Your SunnaSmile specialist will check in to ensure you are comfortable. It is normal to experience a slight tingling sensation as the solution reacts, but you should not experience sharp pain during the treatment. If you do, your session will be stopped immediately.
COMPLETING THE SESSION
Upon the completion of your session, your SunnaSmile specialist will guide you through the disposal of your whitening tray/retractor (in all of its glamour) including a sip, swish, spit routine to help you get rid of all of the whitening gel.
We will complete your treatment by following up with the shade guide comparison in order to determine your whitening progress. Average results per our regular session is 3-5 shades. For those looking to maximize results, we recommend trying our Super Gel professional service and purchasing our SunnaSmile Home Kit for maintenance and at home whitening too.

How does it work?
The In-Studio whitening system consists of both red and blue light spectrums which interact with a peroxide-based whitening gel. Similar to the In-Studio light, the Home Kit has a single blue LED light within a mouthpiece that fits comfortably in your mouth, activating the gel in the exact same way, but with less light power and as the In-Studio treatment.
During the In-Studio session, the gel will absorb the blue LED light which helps the peroxide molecules to break down faster. The red LED light emits a wavelength that stimulates cellular energy that can help heal small cuts or abrasions in the mouth. When used together, these two lights and the peroxide gel provide a service that both whitens the teeth and heals the mouth in 20-25 minutes. SunnaSmile users achieve an average of 5 tooth shades whiter!
What's the difference between the in-studio treatment and at-home Kits?
The In-Studio treatment has a more powerful light and gel formulas, resulting in immediate results. Within 20-25 minutes, the In-Studio treatment will provide you with a noticeably whiter smile. The Home Kit was designed as a maintenance tool for your In-Studio treatment. It takes 5-6 At- Home Treatments to get the same effect as the 1 In-Studio session.

PRE-Care
Eating:
Make sure you eat prior to your SunnaSmile whitening treatment.
Dental Cleaning
It is recommended that you get your teeth professionally cleaned prior to your whitening treatment. This will remove the top “film layer” on the teeth leading to faster results. Without the cleaning prior to your session, the whitening gel has to remove that film layer prior to removing stains. This will reduce the whitening results for some clients.
Piercings
Take out piercings that are in your mouth.
Sores/Cuts
Be sure you have no sores or cuts in your mouth as this will cause discomfort.
Post Care
Food & Drink
Drink only water and don't eat anything for at least one hour following your appointment. Your teeth will continue to whiten after your treatment has been completed. For the first 24 hours after your in-studio session, avoid food or drinks that have dark or staining properties (such as berries, tomato sauces, beets, carrots, red wine, coffee, tea, soft drinks - you get the idea).
Gum Tissue
Post-treatment ‘tingling’ sensations, white gum lines, white spots on the teeth and minor sensitivity are all completely normal. The whiteness along the gum line is actually an indication of the peroxide healing the tissue. This coloring should disappear within 15 minutes. If sensitivity persists, use a toothpaste developed for sensitivity.
Follow Up
In order to maintain your whitening results, we recommend following up with additional sessions every 3-6 months. However, if you would like to continue to whiten we recommend booking follow up appointments closer together. You can also purchase our SunnaSmile Home Kit or Whitening and Aftercare Gel to continue to whiten or maintain your results at home.
