What types of jewelry are available?

We offer a selection of 14k solid gold, white gold, and rose gold chains, as well as gold-filled and sterling silver options. Most clients choose our 14k gold selections as it will give the most lasting wear and the 14k gold chains are very dainty and delicate in appearance.

Do you have charms and connectors?

Currently, we only offer connectors (these are charms that are placed in the center of the bracelets). If there is a charm that you would like to add to your bracelet, we can custom order something for you. Please email annie@sugarbrushtan.com with details.

How much does it cost?

Our pricing guide is listed below. Prices range pending type of chain selected, bracelet or anklet, and type of metal. 14k gold chains range from $80-$200 and gold-filled and sterling silver options can cost anywhere from $50-$75.

How is the jewelry connected?

We customize the chain length to fit your wrist or ankle. We connect the chain by welding a jump ring, connector or link together to keep it closed. This means there is no clasp, therefore, if you need to remove it for any reason, you would need to clip the jump ring with scissors.

How long does it last?

All chains with proper love and care, should last for years to come!

What if a chain breaks after being welded?

Sugarbrush Tan inspects all jewelry to ensure the weld is secure before leaving your appointment. If your Permanent Jewelry breaks AT THE WELD site within 2 weeks of appointment, we will provide a re-weld at no charge.

If the chain breaks in another area within 2 weeks of purchase, we will offer one FREE re-attachment. Any additional re-attachments, past the 2 week time frame, will be $25. If chain is lost or isn't in new condition, a new chain will need to be purchased.

Do you offer refunds or exchanges?

We cannot offer refunds, discounts or exchanges due to each piece being custom fitted. We will happily re-weld or offer a clasp if needed.

Can the jewelry tarnish over time?

All of our products are of high quality and should not tarnish if cared for and properly maintained. However, due to the nature of the wearer's lifestyle, job, body chemistry (pH levels, body oils, sweat and secretions from the skin), products used on the skin (lotions, soaps, perfumes), and other external factors, the chains can tarnish.

A good cleaning with soap and water and a jewelry buffing cloth (which we provide at every service) will clean it. Additionally, for $25 we will cut off, clean and re-attach or add a clasp so the wearer can take off and clean when needed.

Can the permanent jewelry come off?

If you decide to remove your jewelry, you can easily cut it off with scissors. Be sure to cut it where the jump ring/welded link is located and save your chain in case you want to get it relinked in the future.

How long does the appointment last?

Appointments can last anywhere from 10-20 mins on average. If booking for more than one person, please select one of our GROUP booking services for the number of people in your party. Please list all names, phone numbers of everyone in your party, and have them sign our waiver prior to your appointment time.

Can I book a Pop-Up Party?

YES! We can happily schedule a pop-up event at your business or home location. Please email annie@sugarbrushtan.com for details and scheduling availability.

Do you offer gift certificates?

YES! We have e-gift cards that can purchased online and emailed to recipients or we can get a printed gift certificate that can be purchased and picked up at our studio located at 4901 W. Elm St., McHenry, IL 60050.

Is there a minimum age?

YES, we do ask that all clients to be over the age of 12 with an adult present. We do not offer this service to those under 12 since the jewelry may get small as they continue to grow. We can add a clasp though so your little one can get a matching bracelet, but then they can easily take it off.
